ABOUT GRUMPY’S

Nestled in a historic brick building built in 1936 on Vallejo Street, Grumpy’s Pub has long been the heartbeat of San Francisco’s Embarcadero neighborhood. The area was once known as the center of San Francisco’s advertising and media world, home to the city’s biggest ad agencies and TV/radio stations, and Grumpy’s was THE spot. Everyone from the advertising creatives and on-air personalities to dock workers and construction crews could be found at Grumpys. After closing in December 2020, the beloved pub is back under new ownership with a refreshed look and revamped menu.

In addition to a menu that features pub classics like Smashburgers and Buttermilk Fried Chicken sandwiches, Grumpy’s now features delicious “Grandma” style square pie pizza with house-made dough. With the Embarcadero area buzzing with new offices and businesses, Grumpy’s is ready to recreate its legacy as the neighborhood’s go-to spot for great food, delicious drinks, and good times. We are excited to introduce Grumpy’s to a new generation of locals, welcome back it’s fans, and become your favorite hangout.
